We understand that education is the key to the world and it is only education that will combat the stronghold of ignorance. We believe that the youth of Kankakee are no different than those youth from Lake in the Hills, Naperville, and Deerfield. When given an opportunity our youth can do anything.”

| Program Goal: |
To improve academic performance, increase school attendance, decrease
negative social interaction with peers, improve parent/child relationship |
| Objective: |
To provide youth the opportunity to improve academic and social skills, by offering professional tutorial assistance. |
| Description of Services: |
Students will receive tutoring, mentoring, structured activities, and life skill training. |
| Target Population: |
4-12 grade at-risk of school suspension, expulsion, poor attendance and/or truancy and academic failure |
| Selection Process: |
Referrals are received from: I-Kan Regional Office of Education Truancy Program, Kankakee District schools, parents, Community agencies |
| Admission Notification: |
Program coordinator will notify the client, parent/guardian, and referral source in writing of admission or non-admission within five working days of the initial meeting with the applicant(s) |

Up to 12 months |
