Networking with local agencies to provide services that will enhance the development of dignity, pride, self-esteem, and self-worth in all members of the family.



 

Programs
"My Second Home” a therapeutic program
designed to strengthen family unity.

“This program is designed to support and strengthen families by providing counseling, mentoring, and therapeutic respite. It is my desire that this program will improve life skills and social skills to the client and to improve the relationship between parent and child. We currently service Will County, Cook County and Kankakee County. In the next year I would love to provide services to other counties in the state of Illinois.”

My 2nd Home, Program Coordinator


Program Goal: To assist children/youth in remaining home and complying to those in authority
Objective: To provide youth the opportunity to receive counseling, mentoring, and life skill training thus assisting them in improving parent-child relations, academic and social skills.
Target Population: 25 children/youth at-risk of being removed from their home and/or experiencing difficulty in school and the community
Selection Process: Referrals are received from parents, schools, and other community facilities.
Cost: Determined by family needs
Duration of the Program: One year or determined by the needs of the child
Program: Program consist of counseling, mentoring, life skills training, and recreation
Daily Schedule:

Monday-Wednesday & Friday
** Individual and family counseling 2:00pm-8:00pm**
Family Counseling can be scheduled on Saturday upon request in home
Mentoring will be conducted in school

Office Hours: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday - Friday

My Second Home is a therapeutic program with professional staff providing mentoring, individual counseling, group therapy, and therapeutic respite. We also encourage parents, grandparents, and care providers to come and spend time with their children as we develop structured activities.
